Extensive Basement Repairs in Marion, OH
Challenge
A homeowner in Marion, Ohio, contacted Mid-State with a laundry list of concerns in their basement. It was leaking and damp with signs of mold growth and the foundation was bowing and leaning in several places. The homeowner wanted a permanent solution to the moisture, mold, and foundation issues.
Solution
We waterproofed the basement with our WaterGuard system and installed a new TripleSafe sump pump to protect against leaks and floods. We also installed a WaterGuard port that allows access to the system to be serviced. We treated the basement with MoldX to eliminate mold spores and mold growth. We also installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifer that drains directly into the sump pump for a low-maintenance solution to high basement humidity.
To address the foundation problem, the crew installed CarbonArmor fiber wall straps to stabilize the bowing, leaning walls. On the exterior of the home, we also extended the downspouts to ensure rainwater was properly drained to the street sewer system. and not saturating the soil around the foundation of the home.
