Challenge

We were contacted by a homeowner in Lancaster, Ohio, about a leak in their basement wall. We sent an inspector to the home to discuss the homeowner's concerns and provide a thorough inspection of the basement. Our representative found several signs of groundwater seepage into the basement. He also noticed the sump pump was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced.

Solution

Our crew waterproofed the basement with our WaterGuard french drainage system. This system is installed beneath the basement floor to catch groundwater seepage from both the walls and beneath the basement footer, eliminating water entry from the two most common sources. The crew also upgraded the sump pump to our TripleSafe system. It's three-pump-in-one design will continue pumping despite power outages, pump failure, and high water volumes.

The crew digs a trench around the perimeter where they installed the WaterGuard drainage system and backfilled it with clean gravel.

The crew re-concretes the floor once the system is installed. There is a small gap between the wall and the trench that allows water seepage from the walls to drain through.

TrenchDrain is an excellent option for areas that cannot be waterproofed with a french drain.

The old sump pump system was in need of an upgrade. It's also important to have a lid on the sump pump to prevent accidents and keep water from evaporating back into the basement.

TripleSafe's unique design allows water to enter without allowing it to escape. Three pumps ensure triple the protection against floods and power outages.
