Finished Basement Demolition and Waterproofing
Challenge
A customer in Columbus, Ohio, recently purchased a home and was shocked to discover the finished basement had been ruined by groundwater seepage from the foundation walls. Unfortunately, the entire finished basement needed to be ripped out and replaced. The failing foundation and moisture problem needed to be addressed as well.
Solution
Our crew demo-d the finished basement and hauled the materials out to be disposed of properly. The crew then stabilized the foundation walls with static beams to prevent additional bowing or cracking. A vapor barrier was also installed to seal out moisture, allowing it to drain via the French drain system that the crew installed along with an upgraded sump pump.
